I am a London based artist.

My work in the past has been mainly drawing from observation of the human head, cityscapes and rapid drawing from film stills which has introduced a narrative element in them telling a story. More recently I have been making large abstract works using paint, charcoal and graphite. I make them to the scale of my whole reach and they become more gestural and textured. This is a less controlled way of working with the process unfolding as I go along. These are exciting to make and have grown to be sculpture material because of their physicality. There is something about how one thing can transform into another when the past can be utilised in the formation of the present. Unwanted drawings have been shredded to be used in a different form.

I am now starting a body of site specific works using shredded drawings and objects close to hand to encourage the viewer to construct their own narrative. I am striving for liberation and freedom from the constraints of family history, personal losses and health issues through my art practice. Making fresh starts, rejecting old thinking, forging new paths, experimentation and questioning the notion of “failure”.
